What happened recently in Blue? I keep seeing Polaris mentions on the Internet.

Polaris and Emma worked together to undo Havok's inversion.

I haven't seen much new mentions of Lorna online. But then, I haven't done a new Twitter search since before the latest issue, and I don't frequent many comic book sites.
The one big plus I can say about Blue #28 is that from what I've seen and read, its godawful cover did not match the story within. Whether that means the cover was always that terrible for the story, or the story got overhauled into something that didn't suck after complaints, is anyone's guess really.
At this point, I'm fine with things ending as they have as long as it means Lorna doesn't have involvement of any sort with Havok again for another 10 years. It used to be ~5-6 years left but Blue royally screwed things up again in that department.

I can't figure out how to direct link to a Tumblr vid so you guys'll just have to go to the page. am-actionfigures.tumblr.com/post/176360286758/what-its-like-hanging-out-with-jeanI like this cause it plays with Lorna knowing Jean for so long. Anyway, I keep having trouble actually making progress on chapter 5 of my Polaris Chronicles fic. Waaaay overdue. I keep trying to do stuff and then as soon as I start writing it just dies on me. What I'm going with is inside Lorna's mind while she's possessed by Malice. All I've got so far is Lorna with a beautiful green metal garden that Malice is destroying. Plan is to "rewrite" the foundation of Lorna's poor depictions back then from being "who Lorna is," to being a front Lorna put up to try to appear "normal" and "fit in," basically a continuation of the same basic issue of how Lorna used to dye her hair to appear normal. She's not actually a submissive doormat girlfriend, she just pretends to be one because it's what Havok and other people think a "normal woman/girlfriend" should be like. Lots of Malice talking about how that's not her, and how Lorna's getting increasingly pissed and reaching her limit in putting on the charade.

Between no plans for Polaris on her 50th anniversary while there's a popular version of her on TV, Gail Simone saying a Polaris solo would be a hard sell, and now Marvel deliberately skipping over Lorna's best issues on Uncanny X-Men in the 00s in coming TPBs, I'm now convinced Marvel's blacklisting her.

To be fair, Gail Simone is a troll.

True, but the best trolls work with some truth.
I got a response from JDW for a tweet I sent him this afternoon.
I'm thankful he replied to give a bit of news that she'll be in Uncanny, and reassure that she's not blacklisted.
I've said a few things on Tumblr and CBR following that, but I have a bit more to say here that I don't feel comfortable saying in more public places. I don't really trust this. "She'll be in Uncanny" doesn't necessarily mean she plays any meaningful role in any of it. Could easily mean she's in the background of one panel, but hey, she's there so she's technically not blacklisted.
And if she's got a more meaningful role, how do I know that meaningful role isn't "Havok's girlfriend" and nothing more? They're re-releasing X-Factor from the 90s, and they're re-releasing Uncanny X-Men issues that were more Havok-centric (when they were "still a couple"), but they're avoiding Uncanny X-Men issues that actually delve into Lorna (which also, coincidentally, show how Havok is bad for her). What if the reason for seeing so little of Lorna is cause they're trying to establish Havok as "above" her and figure out a way of spinning Lorna forced back with him as a good thing?

I made Lorna in Soul Calibur VI. I have more pics, but I already posted the rest on Tumblr/Twitter and links on CBR. One other thing I'll mention here cause this board gets so little traffic: I'm commissioning a cool artist I know for a Polaris minicomic that's 5 pages + a cover. The cover's nearly done, so I'll probably be posting it around some time soon. Plan is to try to have one page per month. If it gets to be too much for the artist, we may go back to it and stretch out the release timeframe. It's gonna cost me quite a lot, but I think it's worth it in this case because of the special occasion of Lorna's 50th anniversary plus me and the artist basically doing something that Marvel refuses to do.

And so I get to posting with it here. This is the Polaris minicomic I was talking about. It's with Mlad and it'll be out over the next several months as pages are made. Again, since this place is more obscure, I feel more comfortable sharing some deets (should I use that word?). First page is gonna be mainly Lorna up to the point where she joins the X-Men. There's a bit of fanon in what's to come, as it'll present what I think her life was like rather than what's actually been shown in any comics.

Confession time: this is my favorite Polaris design. Im not sure what was up with her hair? But I dug it made her special. I also really loved that this seemed to be a callback to buff!Lorna with how thicc she was and felt the color combination really worked when so many artists struggle bc of her hair color to come up with a good outfit when it reeally shouldnt be that hard. The crotch thing can go obviously but besides that yea I like it even if its very 90s in a way. also my brain wanted to type both Polaris and Lorna at the same time and I almost went with Porna.

Porna is her stage name at the friskotheque. The hair, I think is a cool touch for when she's using high level power. It could be an incredibly memorable look in an event where she's on par with Dark Phoenix or House of M Wanda. Like it could be the signature look for her that says "hey, she's dangerous, watch out." I don't like the whole "buff Lorna" thing because it seems pretty clear Claremont was trying that as a way of further tearing Lorna down. Give her a generic power set, reduce her to a point where everyone thinks she's as worthless as he wants them to think she is. As far as colors, and design in general, I greatly prefer Kris Anka's concept without the Magneto bubbles on the chest. It looks like battle armor while retaining a royal look, and the metal references her powers and gives her a meaningful secondary color without detracting from her iconic look or her overall green.

we're not going to agree lol as I don't like too many characters having reality breaking omega level powers (I find it more interesting to have more limited abilities that u can use in lots of versatile ways) and I thought having a female character with super strength and the physique to match to be quite unique. Even She Hulk looks fucking anorexic most of the time. I do agree that the powerset itself was generic but I doubt it was intended as a permanent change. Nyways.
