There won't be an impeachment because Democrats (in leadership) only listen to the hacks on Morning Joe and CNN instead of their constituents.

There won't be an impeachment because Democrats (in leadership) only listen to the hacks on Morning Joe and CNN instead of their constituents. This is true. They only care about appearances and the "political game," not about doing what's best for the country. The reason AOC scares so many old white men and their garbage supporters isn't really her policies, or that she managed to get into office. It's cause she actually gives a shit about the country and improving things for everyone, and she's inspirational enough that it's not too farfetched to think her example could save us.

As of now, 50 members of the House are on public record calling for an impeachment inquiry. If Pelosi doesn't cave to pressure, *political* pressure, I'm going to start wondering what they have on her and the rest of the Democratic party leadership.
This is insane. Mueller basically got on stage and told Congress to read his 400+ page account of Trump's multiple felonies, AND reminded them of the still salient threat of election interference, and told Congress to exercise its constitutional authority to do something about it...and they're refusing?? Based on polling??? Even from the most politically cynical point of view, I'd want Congressional hearings on Trump's MANY crimes on TV every single day until the 2020 election! Why in the world would they have faith that it will be a fair election anyway? Trump's administration has stopped all enforcement and counterintelligence in that vein! It's a legit constitutional crisis. Wtf are they waiting for? The Senate?!

Democrats (and the beltway media) are permanently living in a previous generation where they think a repeat of the Clinton impeachment will happen (even though Clinton was incredibly popular at the time and lying about cheating on your wife isn't quite the same as Trump's many shenanigans). As you said, televised hearings every day would not be in Trump's benefit at all. But instead you have these dumbass media types like Maggie Haberman and the entire NYT opinion section who think they're incredibly savvy by saying Trump wants to be impeached so his approval will skyrocket.

Once again, Trump announces--on camera, to a reporter--his willingness, if not intention, to do crimes!
I know I said before Dem Party Leadership wouldn't get a better chance, but Trump went and proved me wrong again. What part of openly admitting that he would accept foreign intelligence on political opponents in the 2020 election isn't him daring them to open an impeachment inquiry? Like holy shit, I thought the Mueller press conference was a clear signal!

Pelosi probably still isn't going to open impeachment inquiries, because she thinks she's being smart about it when she isn't, but candidates for 2020 elections will move on that. And Trump similarly thinks he's safe and ready for that when he isn't.

I'll admit I forgot the first Democratic Primary debate was tonight until I got home and turned on the TV.
Luckily I turned it on on time to hear Cory Booker's Spanish. Omg.

Well I'm glad Joe's star is dimming now (finally), and Beto's lack of substance for a national stage is being recognized.
Overall though, I don't put too much faith in these early debates. I'm a little annoyed with them actually. They dominated the news cycle during a week with 2 major Supreme Court decisions. I'm a certified politics junkie, and even I had to force myself to pay attention. Most of the electorate is not thinking about the 2020 election. I imagine a lot of people don't even know the primary debates have begun, let alone who even half the people on the stage were. I don't know a lot of them, and I'm me!
Imo the main value of "winning" these early debates is capturing and shaping media attention. For better or worse, media framing is a huge finger on the scale in terms of what people think of candidates. Before this Joe was getting the sheen of inevitability, despite the fact that no one I know who's paying attention to politics at this stage likes him for the nominee (except my grandma, which is a relevant exception if you want to talk about his base of support). If by the time fall rolls around mainstream media isn't holding Creepy Joe up as the messiah, and is maybe shining a light on the candidates I favor (all of whom did really well!), I'll be happy.
But not too happy. Because this is all just a big circle jerk that nobody but eggheads are paying attention to and there is real news happening.

Uncle Joe is running a Jeb! campaign. He only needs one or two polls where he isn’t leading and his entire campaign will fall apart.
I think analysis has shown that the Democrat that the MSM is most enamoured with is Mayor Pete (who’s polling at a whopping 1% of nonwhite voters in today’s CNN poll). Of course, Gaffe Joe is actively avoiding the media lest he start talking about segregationists and hooded gangbangers again. I’m not surprised the Morning Joe crowd sees him (and Hickenlooper lol) as the only acceptable nominee though.

It’s mostly good news that Jeffrey Epstein has been charged again, will likely receive the degree of prosecution he should’ve gotten before, and may be squeezed into giving up info on other powerful, serial predators (including his good buddy/client Trump).
But it also makes me furious, because it means that for all these years since that original miscarriage of justice, he’s been victimizing even more kids, something that might have been prevented if he’d been fully prosecuted to begin with.

The guy who let him go is secretary of labor now. Democrats can subpoena him! But they won't because what will the swing voter think!?
