its really an aesthetic thing I think for me. Thats why I hope live action can grab me. But I saw some scans of buff Luffy recently and Im not gonna lie I was ready to pay attention.

I legit tried to read One Piece. I stopped not because I didn't like it, but because it took so long. I just couldn't keep that tab open on my browser forever. It was there for like 7 months! I remember liking the anime well enough back when it was on tv? I got as far as them adding the lil reindeer to the crew as team medic.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago a car pulled over in front of me with a GIGANTIC decal of the silhouettes of all the one piece characters that took up an entire side of the car. It didn't even say "one piece" on it. It was just the characters, so only people who recognize those silhouettes would even know what it was. For one frenzied moment I was certain it was Kai, inexplicably on the same street as me, because who else would do such a thing?

I used to be really into Mortal Kombat back in the day. For me the games peaked with that first one they did a story mode on back in the mid/early-2000's or so. The next game MK game I got after that, the female characters were so sexualized it was ridiculous. And I felt weirdly betrayed by the franchise? I'd always thought MK traded in violence not sex. I thought we had an understanding, y'know? It's entirely possible that it was just the first time I noticed something that had always been there (I think I was a teenager by then). It's also possible that game graphics had finally advanced far enough beyond the old 90's arcade game that the developers could add the jiggly boob mechanics they'd always wanted from the start. I never played another Mortal Kombat game after that.

At least I still have my two VHS tapes of the movies.
