Did anyone else see McAvoy gloriously and shamelessly pimping himself out to play young Picard?

I wanted to like Us, but there were so many plot holes, y’all Same. I'm trying to not be nitpicky because it's not like vampires and zombies and werewolves make any sense either, but I have so many questions. And some of the plot holes would be so easy to fix? It's almost like he never had a second pair of eyes on the screenplay after he wrote it? And then since he wrote, directed, and produced it, there was no one else to say, "This is good, but what about...?" Like, {Spoiler} WHO TAKES CARE OF THE RABBITS? Who feeds and waters them? Why didn't other Lupita tell everyone she switched them? If they're supposed to be 'tethered' then why do they spend almost the entire movie walking around, not mirroring their body doubles? Why didn't that little girl just escape back up the escalator from the begining? How did she learn they were all put down there by the government? I have so many questions!

Jordan Peele turned into prequel George Lucas!? Just saw Get Out for the first time tonight. Loved it. Worried Us is a little too horrory for me. I can take creepy, but miss me with endless jump scares and excessive gore

I saw Us tonight as well. It was good. I liked Get Out more. Still feel this was better than most horror movies I've seen lately. I felt the film was too actiony and didn't really explore its basic concept fully enough. I don't ding it for a predictable ending because I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that. I liked the clues used to lead people to catch on to that twist. {Spoiler} One question that readily comes to mind is: why did the film happen at all? Why did the family return to that specific beach? Red expressly says planning it out took a looooong time, so for it to happen when the family shows up and not before or after is in no way coincidence. It was timed. Beyond that, the real horror story isn't in the family getting attacked by doppelgangers, it's in the doppelgangers having to experience everything their top side selves do without any choice whatsoever. Another element hidden in the subtext: Adelaide as a girl getting out, stealing Red's topside identity, going on to live life and then dancing - and Red imitating the dance following Adelaide's lead - proved that the doppelgangers could switch places to become the ones in control if they got out at a young age. So yeah. Pretty freaky.

Why didn't that little girl just escape back up the escalator from the begining? How did she learn they were all put down there by the government? I have so many questions! I didn’t even think about the rabbits. My questions were: How did she learn the history of the Tethered if none of them spoke English? After the other girl brought her down there, what was keeping her from leaving? For that matter, what was keeping any of them from leaving? When exactly was the project abandoned, and how did the government manage to clone EVERYONE in America? How did she organize the rebellion of millions of them? Do the Tethered control the people or the other way around? The dad’s mimics him slightly, and the little boy can control his but only sometimes(?). Where did they get the red suits? Where did they get ANY of their clothes? They all have custom printed tee shirts and the like?
