I wasn't against the idea of them going to space either, but wasn't that idea first brought up when Remender was around or something? Like circa Uncanny Avengers v2? I may be remembering this wrong but that's probably why people didn't want it back then. I think it'd have worked if instead of flopping round like idiots during the Terrigen plot, they were sent off to space and we had had an "X-Men as immigrants/refugees" storyline. Then again, that might not have been handled very well either. exactly remender need can should and must fuck off. And the XMen as a metaphor for refugees is brimming with story potential its just Marvel creatives really arent abt that life and putting the work in to tell stories abt minority groups beyond plattitudes. How can they write about minority groups who take refuge when they lead sheltered comfy cracker lives?

They don't have to. Its writing they can do whatever they want its their fault they have no imagination. U can write stories abt minorities without focusing on their oppression like thats a thing. But also if they must write abt discrimination, theres plenty u can do without flatscans. Whedon had Emma call out Xavier for thinkink psychics are an elite among mutants. U have reality warpers, elementals, immortal types and then u have just regular peeps with deformities and such. Think Storm telling Rogue she dont need a cure bc she's not sick in TLS. Just off the top of my head that's rife with potential. I'm assuming there's plenty of mutants who were relieved after Decimation knowing their kids wont be born looking monstrous or having powers that endanger their and everyone around them's lives. From a logistic pov there's some roadblocks to just moving mutants offworld that would require srs creativity but theres also plenty to be done with the idea.

What you're trying to say is refugee idea is great if it's backed up by imagination which would flourish seeds of discrimination turned inwards the X-Men group instead of coming from outside factors ie flatscans? That's nice, but it has a short creative lifespan. Also creators have to be socially conscious to write that.
I would be much more interested in building society and mutant culture from scratch, who would crack from the lack of Earth and its inhabitants, how can they make planet X self sufficient, will the planet X be isolationist or would they be open to trade with alien civilizations. What sources of energy would they use? Mutants, cosmic forces or something hidden on Mars? Would they visit Earth from time to time to 'harvest' new mutants? would X-men give them a choice of coming with them or just kidnapping them? Also can you link the source of X-Men going to Mars?
I think Hickman might turn X-Men into some new galactic empire civilization like Shi'ar or Inhumans. Which makes me sad and glad? On one side X-Men have decided their fate is in the stars, but the whole point of X-Men is fighting for the world that hate and fears them.
edit: to further follow my train of thought from the last line - what do the X-men fight for if they have no world that hate and fears them? Free of oppression, what do they fight for? That might be good question worth exploring.

Love how everyone was railing against the idea of the X-Men exiling themselves to space when that was planned years ago, but now that Hickgod might send them to Mars everyone's calling it an exiting idea that evolves the franchise. Pretty much context. When Marvel was bending over backwards to undermine X-Men cause Fox owned the film rights, they were afraid Marvel would do to the X-Men franchise as a whole what they did to Polaris and the rest of the Starjammers. Now that things changed, those people think Marvel will try their best to maximize use of the X-Men with the idea. Tbf ive been wanting them to fuck off to another world for years. Im sick of the same old trite story beats going nowhere. There's no real avoiding that though, thanks to Marvel being regressive enough that whoever gets hired will inevitably try to repeat and reinforce the same shit over and over. Only real way for things to change is from outside Marvel. They have a point! /s This is one of several things that younger gen z and post-gen z will be pointing to as big problems with how things are being done today culturally. Current society isn't ready and open to properly dealing with these issues.

The fact that she was listed #1 worst XMan of the 2000's by CBR is incidental. And bs.

I personally abhor violence and would want to see the perpetrators punished, but it's also hard to feel sorry for someone going out of his way to piss people off. Sometimes trolling can catch up with you.
