I was 25 minutes away when Trayvon Martin was murdered, and 2.5 hours away when neo nazis marched on Charlottesville. Pulse was the place to be when I was in undergrad. I'm probably not going to watch it for awhile. I still haven't watched 13th. Same. I'm more than familiar with this story from over the years but in general, for me, It's exhausting having to almost constantly black stories revolve around our mistreatment. Of course this and other docu-shows/movies are important to tell and keep telling but damn it drains you A LOT. Especially if you already grew up on these tales as they happened or heard about them through the community or your family. I'll watch this docu-drama eventually, but not now. Now I just need to see black people winning even if it is just a work of fiction. Agreed. |

The real kicker is that they don’t even want to do a reboot ala Ducktales (the original of which also didn’t age well despite being amazing at the time). They want to continue right where they left off. I’m not sure if children’s cartoons should be primarily targeted at people in their 30s and 40s but that’s just me (and yes I know they have kids now to watch with).

On the bright side they did already adapt a bunch of stuff so we won't have to go thru them again. We can have our animated battle of the atom finally.

I didn't find the original interesting even when it was brand new airing on TV, and I was the friggin target audience. |
